For this project, I designed a custom camshaft lobe for Hondata Inc. The goal of the project was to take a stock lobe design, reverse engineer it, then increase the lift (thereby increasing the amount of fuel injected.) The challenge was to increase the lift while still retaining the stock asymmetric acceleration curve. From measurements taken on a Cam Pro Plus, I created designs for three, four-lobed camshafts, with varying degrees of lift. I designed the profiles in Solidworks, and they were CNC-ed and press-fit onto existing camshafts for the purpose of design validation.
